CNC Capabilities

Mechanical Precision offers both CNC Milling and CNC Turning capabilities to deliver high-quality, cost-effective parts across a wide range of industries. Our facility features 7 Horizontal CNC Machining Centers with multiple pallets, modular fixturing, and spindle speeds up to 10,000 RPM—ideal for high-volume production. We also operate 7 Vertical CNC Machining Centers, equipped with 4th and 5th axis rotary tables, 10,000 RPM spindles, and travel ranges up to 30" x 80". These advanced systems, combined with our skilled CNC programmers, allow us to produce complex components such as cams, extrusion dies, castings, microwave components, and medical implants. Our CNC Turning Services include 12 CNC Turning Machines capable of handling parts from small precision components to large shafts. Our largest machines can accommodate pieces up to 15" in diameter and 40" in length, with tailstocks suitable for shaft work as well as chucking operations. Smaller machines feature 6" chucks for high-speed, accurate machining. We efficiently support both short-run and long-run production, ensuring flexibility and consistency for every project.

Broaching

Broaching Services Mechanical Precision offers a comprehensive range of broaching solutions for both standard and specialized needs. Our capabilities include special keyway broaching, RAM EDM broaching for blind holes and hardened materials, and an inventory of over 150 custom broaches, covering all standard keyway sizes and various spline profiles. For large-scale jobs, our 15-ton Lapointe broach handles heavy-duty applications with ease. We also offer vertical broaching, perfect for small parts and economical for both short and long production runs.

Machine Building With over 50 years of experience, Mechanical Precision specializes in building custom machines across a wide range of industries. Our team has expertise in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems, and we’re equipped with a large in-house assembly area and skilled assembly personnel. Prototype Services Mechanical Precision was founded in 1962 as a product development company serving the aerospace industry, and we bring over 50 years of experience in prototype development across a range of sectors. Our team works closely with engineers, toolmakers, machinists, and CNC programmers to turn concepts into precision-built prototypes. We support industries such as medical, pharmaceutical, pneumatic systems, energy, and more—providing hands-on collaboration and technical expertise at every stage of the development process.

Additional Services

Additional Machine Shop Services Mechanical Precision offers a range of value-added services to reduce production time and cost, making us a true one-stop shop for your machining and design needs. In addition to our in-house capabilities, we maintain a trusted network of platers, powder coaters, painters, and other finishers to fully support your project from start to finish. CAD/CAM & Inspection: We utilize MasterCAM and SolidWorks to program our machine tools and create accurate, efficient toolpaths. These same CAD models are also used to program our Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), enabling automated inspection and detailed reporting to meet strict quality requirements. Assembly Services: Mechanical Precision offers sub-assembly building to help streamline your inventory and support just-in-time (JIT) production processes. Tumbling & Finishing: We provide in-house tumbling using a variety of grits to achieve the exact surface finish you require. Our finishing options also include plating, painting, and powder coating through our partner network—ensuring your parts are delivered complete and production-ready.

Welding & Fabrication

Welding & Fabrication Services Welding and fabrication are key strengths at Mechanical Precision. Our skilled team can produce weldments of various sizes—small, medium, and large—tailored to your project needs. We utilize both MIG and TIG welding techniques and have expertise welding a range of materials, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Whether you need precise, small-scale welds or large structural assemblies, we deliver quality and reliability every time.

Grinding

Grinding Services: Mechanical Precision has both cylindrical and surface grinding capabilities. Cylindrical Grinding: MPI can cylindrical grind pieces up to 10" x 30". Surface Grinding: MPI can surface grind pieces up to 12" x 24".
